Street Fight Stopper Ibn Ali Miller Tells His Story as Steve Harvey Honors Him as a Harvey Hero

Steve Harvey brought Ibn Ali Miller, the street fight stopper on his show to honor him as a Harvey Hero. “You’re just what I look for man,” Steve said as the crows applauded Miller.

See the video here:

They spoke about how he came by those two young men fighting and how it all happened.

He was running an errand for his mom going back home. “It is my obligation to take care of my community whenever I can.”

He took a stand because he lost his dad, he was killed in the streets. His mother worked 3 jobs and went to college to provide for her family.

“I stopped those kids because when I saw those kids I saw myself.”

Steve Harvey then asked the big question. How did he get out of the cycle. Then Ibn Ali began opening up about his past.

“When I was 19 I attended the local mosque and as you walk in to the building there’s a saying of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him ‘Love for your brother what you love for yourself.’ When I walked in to that place I met a bunch of people who exemplified that.”

He went on to talk about a prominent man in his life from the mosque named Salim.

“He taught me how to dig a hole with a shovel. He taught me how to use a hammer. He taught me how to work with my hands he made sure before he died that I could provide for myself without disgracing my family or my community and at the same time maintain my own dignity.”

The two young men who were involved in the fight also thanked Ibn Ali Miller and learned a great deal from the experience.

Jamar, 15 said that he wants to go to college because of Ibn Ali Miller.

Steve Harvey was surprised how articulate they are and said their is hope for a great future for them.

Steve asked Miller if he had anything else to say. He began his advice by saying to, “love God first,” and to have reverence for your parents irregardless of their shortcomings. Then he ended with a moving statement. “Love yourself, really have a deep sincere love for yourself because if you don’t love yourself you cant love nobody else.”

Before the show began, Steve expressed how hard it was to get Miller on any TV show. This is why he chose to go on Harvey’s show:

I must agree, with Kim’s comments I was touched by the whole of Steves video,& was disturbed by the fighting clip.
But as our brother showed us, a small intervention, can bring peace if we all try, but more so think abut our situation and action, while knowing our own minds and not have our peers pressure us into negitivity…..
