According to our source most of the females who auditioned were “standard Indian girls” and “Urban types” who didn’t fit the role. But Herman stood out of the crowd with her distinct look.
It’s the latest rumour to come out of the project after news emerged that cinematographer Greig Fraser would be working with Villeneuve instead of his previous choice in Roger Deakins (Sicario, Blade Runner 2049).

Herman would play alongside Chalamet as the the love interest and blue-eyed Fremen warrior ‘Chani’ on the desert planet of Arrakis.
